How TLK Pet driving service works
Additional Information
- Driving and transport services are private (your dog/dogs only, unless a shared ride has been arranged) and 100% focused on your dog’s well-being. The safety, care, and comfort of your dog will always be my number one priority
- I will handle all hotel and flight accommodations as well as a rental vehicle if necessary. My fee includes all expenses related to the trip and is typically split into 3 divided payments: 1.) Non-refundable booking/scheduling fee which is paid upon receipt of contract and secures your dates of travel. The remaining balance is typically divided between 2.) day of pick up and 3.) arrival at our destination.
- Your dog will be with me at all times during transport. At no time will your dog be left alone for any amount of time in the car or hotel. While they are with me I treat them as I would my own!
- Some dogs like their own bed in the hotel, others are more comfortable sleeping with a human. I’m happy to accommodate your dog to make her overnight stays as comfortable as possible (this human prefers doggos on the bed with me!)
- Our trip includes normal daily care and interaction with your pup including walks, playtime, conversation, cuddle,s etc…I maintain a list of well-maintained dog parks and safe play areas throughout the country that are directly off any given route so that my passengers can really get out and stretch their legs. Time and weather permitting of course, and always discussed prior to departure, as this may or may not be appropriate for your pup.
- In addition to your dog’s belongings, you are welcome to pack the vehicle with additional items to be transported to the delivery location (please leave room for my suitcase!) and provide food (perhaps portioned off in plastic bags or containers for convenience) or provide me with information on what your pet's diet consists of and I will accommodate.
- Don't forget to pack their favorite toy or blanket as well as their food and water bowls so they know they are not being kidnapped but that they are only on a road trip:) If you do not have travel bowls, I will provide them, just let me know! If your pet requires medication please provide me with enough to get us home as well as any specific instructions. I am skilled at administrating meds including those given by injection.
- If your pet is not microchipped and/or does not have a tag with your phone number on it, I will arrive with one or stop shortly after departure and purchase one. This is something you can make sure they have before the trip!
- A health certificate is not required for private transport with me however it is written in the contract I will provide, that you and your vet do in fact deem your pet to be healthy enough for long-distance travel. If you do have vaccination records you would like to provide that is always welcome (this not required for transport with me but should be available.)
- I will provide you with a lifetime supply of endless photos throughout the journey and you will be able to follow our location on GPS at all times!
